Following the loss of the entire street in the Wye River 2015 Christmas Day bushfires, this project required a highly considered response to BAL 40 requirements, exposed coastal conditions and complex site constraints. The building is organised around a protected central courtyard, creating shelter from the prevailing south-westerly winds while maintaining strong connections between the individual volumes. Corten steel, plywood and wide oak boards form the living and kitchen volume, while precast concrete walls and floors provide a robust construction solution for the bedroom and bathroom wing. The project demonstrates our capability in delivering technically demanding architectural work, with close attention to detailing, material interfaces, fire compliance and construction methodology.

Kennett Farm
Imogen Pullar Architects / Greg Lloyd

Situated 3 kilometres inland from the Great Ocean Road, this 120-acre property comprises a new farmhouse and a series of auxiliary buildings, including the comprehensive renovation of the original shearing shed for accommodation. The existing galvanised external cladding was retained, while the interior was reworked using plywood and repurposed hardwood floor battens from the original shearing operation as wall cladding. The farmhouse was constructed as two distinct volumes, accommodation and living, wrapped externally in vertical Spotted Gum. Internally, Birch plywood and Spotted Gum are used extensively throughout the walls, floors and joinery. The project also drew on our expertise in off-grid construction, integrating the essential services and infrastructure required to operate independently within a remote rural setting. The build required careful integration of new construction with existing rural structures, with a strong focus on durability, reuse and practical detailing suited to its agricultural setting.

Set on an unusually shaped corner site in St Kilda, this three-level residential project required a carefully resolved response to both the urban context and the constraints of the site. Two residences are arranged above a shared basement, with a strong emphasis on privacy, natural light and considered connections to the surrounding landscape. Australian manufactured Red Emperor brickwork from Krause, forms the primary architectural expression, complemented by standing seam aluminium cladding and finely detailed openings. The project required precise coordination of structure, services and architectural finishes (interiors by Chris Connell Design) across multiple levels, demonstrating our ability to deliver highly resolved multi-residential construction within a demanding urban setting.

West Beach Townhouses
Grant Amon Architects

Replacing a dilapidated timber cottage on a confined corner site in West St Kilda, this three-level development presented the practical challenges of building two townhouses within a restricted urban footprint. The project required careful management of site access, structural coordination, services and construction sequencing across three levels. A combination of timber and metal cladding was installed beneath a substantial Glulam pergola structure, which extends over the rooftop decks and incorporates extensive mesh screening. The rooftop construction required particularly careful detailing of waterproofing, drainage, structure and external finishes. With limited space for materials, trades and equipment, the project demanded disciplined planning, coordination and workmanship throughout the build.

Wye River General Store
Six Degrees Architects

Once a neglected and run-down roadside general store, this Great Ocean Road landmark was purchased and redeveloped by Greg and two friends from the hospitality industry. Having known the property since childhood, the opportunity to transform it was both personal and ambitious. Working alongside a talented architectural and hospitality team, we retained and repurposed existing materials wherever possible, combining them with new elements to create a warm, character-rich destination. The result is a vibrant new chapter for a much-loved local building, carefully crafted to reflect the unique character of the Great Ocean Road.

A substantial three-level residence overlooking the Yarra River, this project demanded a high level of construction precision and coordination. The architectural rigour extended through every aspect of the build, with a complex screening system and carefully engineered cladding structure requiring detailed planning and installation. Fine detailing throughout the building called for close coordination between structure, services and finishes, with a strong focus on accuracy at every interface. The project demonstrates our ability to deliver complex architectural construction with precision and craftsmanship.

St Kilda Renovations
Content Studio

A pair of two-storey additions to heritage-listed Edwardian semi-detached houses, this project required careful construction around the existing heritage fabric. The original facades were retained while two contemporary curved forms were constructed to the rear, each with contrasting finishes and individually tailored layouts. Delivering the curved structures and their precise junctions with the existing buildings required detailed set-out, coordination and workmanship. Careful sequencing and protection of the existing structures were essential while integrating new structure, services and finishes.

Airey's Beach House
Thomson Perrett Architects

Set within a substantial 10-acre coastal landscape, this expansive family holiday residence was conceived as much more than a beach house. Designed by the prestigious Thomson Perrett Architects, the project sought to harmonise a significant built form with its natural setting while delivering an exceptional level of family and resort-style living. The scale and complexity of the residence required a high degree of coordination and construction precision, with the architecture carefully integrated into the landscape to create a private retreat that feels both generous and grounded in its coastal environment.
